About Nuevo Tango EnsambleThe Nuevo Tango Ensamble was founded in 1999 by Pasquale Stafano and Gianni Iorio in order to celebrate Astor Piazzolla`s music, but also to rearrange it. The Trio approximates Piazzolla’s compositions with deep admiration with the aim to interpret the complex musical expressions and the characteristical sounds from Buenos Aires. This convergence became quickly a deep passion of Nuevo Tango Ensamble, supported by the enthusiastic feedback by the audience. For 3 years now the Trio tours with the Tango-Jazz project „A night for Astor“ through Europe to present Piazzolla’s compositions as a mixture of Tango and Jazz to the listeners. With this project „A night for Astor“ the Nuevo Tango Ensamble established itself over the years at theaters, but also at Jazz Clubs and at festivals. They just did a festival tour through the Arab Emirates in summer 2008. The Trio Nuevo Tango Ensamble already worked with international well-known Jazz musicians like the saxophonist Javier Girotto and the clarinettist Gabriele Mirabassi. In 2001 their first CD „Astor`s Mood“ was released, the second album „A night in Vienna for Astor Piazzolla“, recorded at Porgy & Bess in Vienna, followed in 2005. Now the latest album of the Nuevo Tango Ensambles is in the starting blocks. For “Tango Mediterraneo“ they worked with Gabriele Mirabassi who has an excellent reputation as clarinettist by now. The album will include primary self-made compositions of Pasquale Stafano and Gianni Iori besides two Astor Piazolla interpretations. “Tango Mediterraneo“ will be released on the Freiburg based label Jazzhaus Records in September 2008.

Das Nuevo Tango Ensamble wurde 1999 von Pasquale Stafano und Gianni Iorio gegründet, um Astor Piazzolla`s Musik zu zelebrieren, aber auch neu zu arrangieren. Das Trio nähert sich den Kompositionen Piazzolla’s mit tiefer Bewunderung und dem Ziel die komplexen musikalischen Ausdrücke und die charakteristischen Klänge aus Buenos Aires, zu interpretieren. Diese Annäherung wurde innerhalb des Nuevo Tango Ensambles schnell zu einer ausgeprägten Leidenschaft, getragen von der enthusiastischen Resonanz des Publikums. Seit 3 Jahren schon tourt das Trio mit dem Tango-Jazz Projekt „A night for Astor“ durch Europa, um den Zuhörern Piazzolla’s Kompositionen als eine Mixtur aus Tango und Jazz zu präsentieren. Mit diesem Projekt „A night for Astor“ etablierte sich das Nuevo Tango Ensamble über die Jahre hinweg an Theatern, aber auch in Jazz Clubs und auf Festivals. Gerade waren sie im Sommer 2008 in den Arabischen Emiraten auf Festivaltour. Das Trio Nuevo Tango Ensamble arbeitete schon mit international bekannten Jazz Musikern zusammen, wie zum Beispiel dem Saxofonist Javier Girotto oder dem Klarinettisten Gabriele Mirabassi. 2001 wurde Ihre erste CD „Astor`s Mood“ veröffentlicht, das zweite Album „A night in Vienna for Astor Piazzolla“, aufgenommen im Porgy & Bess in Wien, folgte im Jahre 2005. Nun steht das neueste Album des Nuevo Tango Ensambles in den Startlöchern. Für “Tango Mediterraneo“ arbeiteten sie mit Gabriele Mirabassi zusammen, der sich inzwischen weltweit einen hervorragenden Ruf als Klarinettist erspielt hat. Das Album wird neben den beiden Astor Piazolla`s Interpretationen, hauptsächlich eigene Kompositionen aus den Federn von Pasquale Stafano und Gianni Iorio enthalten. “Tango Mediterraneo“ wird im September 2008 auf dem Freiburger Label Jazzhaus Records erscheinen.
